On Friday, January 23rd, NOAA Marine Debris Program staff presented on the Hawaii Marine Debris Action Plan at the Hawaii Environmental Enforcement Meeting (HEEM). The presentation was well-received and garnered a lot of interest, feedback, and discussion from the group. Additionally, MDP staff gained valuable knowledge specific to the enforcement side of the marine debris issue from HEEM participants who spend time in the field. Valuable contacts were made and coordination and communication with this group will continue. This presentation was done in coordination with the US Environmental Protection Agency Region 9.
